Here is this week’s installment of the Wild WE’s Friday Five, news and information from around the web for small business owners and women entrepreneurs:
University of Dubai Entrepreneurship and Business Plan for Women Entrepreneurs: The Middle East is not a region known for its support of women, especially professional women entrepreneurs. However, the University of Dubai, located in one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, is leading the way in turning that around. In a first of its kind program for the region, UD recently completed a workshop for women entrepreneurs to help them learn the tools necessary to be successful businesswomen.
The Most Influential Small Business Twitter Accounts: D and B Credibility has published this very helpful list of Twitter accounts that small business owners should consider following. They are rated in terms of the Klout score and peer follows. Perhaps someone you find valuable to follow isn’t on the list; if so, add them to our comments section below and tell us why you follow them! We would add @TheSunQueen, the account for our intrepid founder Ja-Naé, and of course, @TheWildWE!
6 Women Entrepreneurs Who Went From Rags to Riches: Need your weekly dose of inspiration? Check out these 6 highly successful and influential women entrepreneurs who started from nothing and built a fortune.
Using Tradtional Media to Help Build Your Small Business: A lot of focus is put on the trend of social media to grow your business, but this article explains ways you can use traditional media to your advantage as a small business owner to promote your products and services. We especially like the tip about HARO-Help a Reporter Out-which allows you to put your expertise to use.
Business and a Beer: An Entrepreneur Roundtable: Entrepreneur magazine held its first Business and a Beer event in March, gathering together several successful business owners over food and drink to share their stories and offer up advice for other entrepreneurs. See what they had to say.
